Activities in the Jeanerette Area
Known as the "Sugar City," Jeanerette's economic driver is growing and milling sugarcane, hosting two active sugar mills. Nestled on the shores of the Bayou Teche, it's a little slice of peace and quiet. Here's a small sampling of the things you can do in and around the surrounding area.
Relax
Have a beach day at Cypremort Point State Park located on the Vermilion Bay and less than ten miles from the Gulf of Mexico. This popular spot is great for those looking to picnic, beachcomb, swim, observe local wildlife and take advantage of some of Louisiana’s best saltwater fishing. Don’t forget to stay for the beautiful sunset!
